      中心硕士生李淑静的工作 —— Investigation of Brillouin properties in high-loss doped silica waveguides by comparison experiment的相关成果近期被IEEE Photonics Technology Letters期刊接收,该工作得到了国家重点研发计划(2019YFB2203700)、国家自然科学基金(61822508,61571292)的部分资助。通过与单模光纤进行对照实验,提出一种可以测量高损耗和严重端面反射的波导特性的实验方案,成功观察到高损耗掺杂氧化硅波导中的布里渊现象,并研究了该波导的布里渊特性。

     摘要: We demonstrate a novel scheme to investigate Brillouin properties of waveguides with high loss and serious reflection by comparison experiment with a single-mode fiber (SMF). An optical filter is used to filter the reflected pump light and Brillouin scattering is detected using a lock-in amplifier (LIA). In order to obtain a sufficiently large Brillouin gain in a very short medium, a modulation signal with a time width of 2 ms is used. Using the mathematical relationship between the output power and measurement range of the LIA, the measured Brillouin gains of the waveguides and the SMF are normalized to derive the relationship between their Brillouin gain coefficients. This scheme is verified on two doped silica waveguides. The Brillouin scattering properties of the doped silica waveguides are further characterized and the Brillouin gain coefficients are derived.
